I had decided well over a month ago that I will start keeping rats... I adore the little critters and its been too many years since i had some.
So, contacted the NFRS (National Fancy Rat Society) for the breeders list and got to work contacting people.  Not alot happening to be honest.

Anyways, I hadn't planned on getting any stock from Pet Shops, but I saw these girls and couldn't resist!!
As I don't know the history of these rats, they won't be bred from.

They are such sweet girls, around 11 weeks old, a little nervous but thats understandable as they don't know me well yet. But the temprement so far has been excellent, not bitey in the slightest and very curious.

This is Fuzzy Butt!  hehe  Dominant one out of the four girls, very sweet, curious and bossy! She is a champagne rex, the rex isn't brilliant on the front of her body, but very good on her rump! Hence her name  lol

This is Fidget, the second in command  hehe  Still a little nervous, but relaxes quickly enough when held and there are things to investigate and smell!  hehe Black hooded.

This is Spazz, submissive and nervous, but beautiful and very smart. She will be a playful rattie when she gets used to me, i can see it. Agouti hooded, perfect straight line on the hood, shame the line down her back doesn't go all the way.

And finally Scardy Cat, the most nervous, but even though she is genuinely quite freaked by me, and naturally looks for the furthest corner so her sisters can protect her, she is not even attempted to bite or squeal. She will slowly take food by hand and allows me to stroke her. She will take time to tame, but I will. She is also a champagne rex, slightly better curls than her dominant sister.

You lucky duck! :D I've wanted rats for awhile, but my mom always says no. But, I'm going to get them when I go to university... in 4-5 years. :) They're all adorable! It's nice to know that they're going to a knowledgeable home, and not to a home that has not a single idea on how to care for them. (one of my biggest pet peeves, that I often see in PI's threads about rats)

Nighthenge

I would love to have rats again.  I really miss them.
