Saevia nigh near tumbles out of the small cottage shared by the three siblings.  She coughs and covers her mouth and nose with her sleeve, trying to avoid the strange plume of rainbow tinted smoke billowing gently out of the cottage.  She barely makes it past the front yard before her ankle twists and she collapses to the ground.

"Oh, no," she whispers, twisting to look back over her shoulder.  The smoke settles along the ground, like a deep fog, yet it continues to bubble out of the cottage.  "Oh, no," Saevia repeats, unable to to even gather her thoughts beyond this one phrase.  The elven woman struggles up to her feet, and she limps back from the holographic smoke surrounding their home.

Helplessly, she can only repeat once more, "Oh, no."

A few hours later, the cottage can no longer be seen and, finally, the fog cloud has settled on a size.  Mostly, at least.  It expands outward from the cottage 50 yards in a generally circular shape.  From time to time another puff of smoke will billow up and outwards, before retreating back into the main body.  All along the edges, the rainbow colours shimmer as the smoke-like substance eddies and flows back and forth.

A safe distance back, watching worriedly from the edge of the orchard, Saevia and Rainbow Gore contemplate the cloud.  "I just don't know what to do," Saevia confides in the Elenaria.  Rainbow Gore tosses her head with a snort.  Saevia sighs, "Yes, I know, but I can't very well go in there now."

The Kelpie looks over her shoulder, bringing the elf's attention to the visitor.  "Oh!"  Saevia straightens abruptly at the sight, and, with a soft cry of pain, wilts back to the ground again.  Her forehead and nose wrinkle as she reaches down.  Her hand hovers over her ankle, as though she's afraid even to touch it.  Anyone can see that it's both swollen and a little bit purple-ish.  "I'm so sorry," Saevia says breathlessly.  "There's been a bit of an... accident in the cottage.  I'm afraid that I can't assist you until I can get the mess sorted."

The Kelpie mare snorts at Saevia again, a sharp jerk of her head towards the visitor.  A small spray of water flings forth.  Saevia looks up at the mare in indignant worry.  "I certainly cannot ask them to go in there!  It's a magical mess.  Who knows what is even happening!"

The Elenaria, however, refuses to be dissuaded and finally, the elven woman gives in.  "You're under no obligation whatsoever," she says firmly.  "No matter what this lady may say!  However."  She looks down glumly at her ankle.  "I need help."  She looks up at the visitor, eyes pleading despite the fact that she's not trying to guilt anyone into doing anything.

"Song is the outpouring of one's heart into the poetry of life.  That is well evident here, where the stars come to life.

"When Rainbow Gore stepped into being, she brought with her a pearl of holographic grey.  Each movement, each touch of light, and rainbows sought to blind the eye.  And I, more fool that I am, sang to myself as I set it to its place."

"A dream is a wish your heart makes," Saevia sings in a haunting sort of whisper.  "And the pearl disappeared."  She looks up at her visitor again.  "Magic fills the cottage, brought from the deeps of both sea and space.  It seeks a direction to take, a form to assume.  And I know not what it will do if faced with a heart's dream.  Yet, I think if someone can just find the pearl somewhere, it can be safely contained again."  She shrugs helplessly.  "Or perhaps it will bring only nightmares from a broken song.  I do not know.  If you dare to do this..."  she trails off, and her face gives birth to all of her uncertainty.  "Our gratitude," she finishes soft as a sigh.  "Our more heartfelt gratitude."

A magical artifact has made its presence known at the triplets' cottage, and now it seeks to bring a dream--or nightmare--to life.  This is a writing/RP event, where you will write some form of non-Elenaria sentient being that will brave the rainbow smoke to try to discover just where that little pearl has disappeared to.

Yet, nothing is as simple as it could be.  For the smoke hides not the just the cottage itself, but also the way to the cottage.  As soon as you step into the smoke, you will be taken from the normal laws of the world.  In your reply/replies, you will have a list of items/ideas that must be presented somehow.  If you would like to have your character interact with someone else's, see if the other user would like to RP with you! =3

The prize will be a custom Elenaria based on a persona or a different pet--cyberpet or RL.  =3  This will be WITHIN reason (don't kill me, guys. xD;; ) and i do have the right to veto a pick if it's more than i can handle.  Kelpie and Demon lions may not be forced as a choice.

The person to find the pearl will be the one to most engage me with their character. =-0 <3  i love compelling, 'real' characters.  =3

Items/Ideas to be Incl:
1. Inhalation
2. Doorway
3. Statuette (your choice)
4. Freeze
5. The dream/wish of your character's heart

Start: Now
End: 10 MAY at noon Secundi time (yes, this one DOES end in May. xD;; )

Chezaire tosses her blonde hair over one shoulder as the strange woman and the frankly weird horse creature asks if she'll go into the...what, rainbow smoke? It looks like some of her worst attempts at an illusion if she has to be honest. The young witch takes a moment to consider her options. Whatever magic is involved is considerably more potent than hers, she thinks, and just about the only thing thus far that might return her to where she belongs. Heartfelt gratitude can be a rather useful thing to have too.

So the young woman puts a smile on her face and says, "I'll try it." It's a gamble and she normally hates those but she wants to get home. She misses Liam...and Griff too. Not to mention her cats. She fiddles with the ring on her finger, a charm she made to protect herself from harm, and hopes it will do it's job. Without so much as a glance back towards Saevia and Rainbow Gore Chezaire walks towards the cottage with chin held high. She stops at the edge of the shimmering smoke, reaching out to brush her finger tips through it.

It feels dense in a way that smoke shouldn't and she frowns a little. It's not exactly an unpleasant sensation and the ring she wears doesn't react. With a deep inhale she closes her eyes and steps into the smoke fully. She's slow to open her eyes again once she's enveloped, slowly peeking one brown eye open and then the next. A hand flies to her mouth to stifle a scream and the rest of her body curls inwards as if to protect itself. There are places where the smoke seems to change and figures are plainly visible. Her mind flashes to the first Narnia movie with the statues of everyone and the comparison unnerves her.

She stumbles sideways away from a figure that seems to be coming nearer and ends up passing through another. The ring grows hot and then cool on her finger so she breaks into a run. Forward. She has to move forward. Chezaire can't afford to stay here in this smoke or in this foreign land so all she can do is move ahead as she's always done. She doesn't know where she's going but she feels something deep inside. Instinct, perhaps? It usually serves her well so she follows it until the outline of an archway appears in the smoke. The door of the cottage? A trick the smoke or her mind is playing on her? She makes her way to it, weaving between the figures in the smoke.

Chezaire shortly finds herself standing before the doorway with two pedestals on either side of her. One one she sees a small statuette of a hand holding a knife which makes her shudder. The other has one of a wolf that for some reason reminds her of Griff. She's drawn to it but when she's standing before the pillar and reaching for it she freezes. Wait. Something...is not right here. Her particular brand of magic is that of illusions. Conjuration. Things are not always as they seem. She retreats from the pillar though she longs to pick up that wolf.

Chezaire instead approaches the statuette of the hand and the knife. She shuts her eyes tight and finds her breathing is erratic. No wonder she's so repelled by this one. Closer she can see red shimmering along the knife and she knows. This...this is meant to represent the murder of her parents. If this statuette is that...and represents her past...She glances over at the wolf. "My future?" She's not sure why a wolf or why Griffin is considered her future but she reaches for the hand and knife statuette instead. She startles when the hand falls apart and the knife falls to the pedestal with a metallic clatter.

Wasn't it stone just a moment ago? Still she picks it up to feel the weight of it in her palm. She examines the rubies inlaid in the handle and blade. Decoration rather than function. It makes her feel ill holding it and her ring almost feels like it's burning her. Chezaire swallows against the bile and approaches the massive doorway. It has no ornamentation on it, no words of guidance, just a small slot that the knife can fit in so she slides the blade of it in to the hilt. Nothing happens and she can't twist it but she knows she needs to go through this door. Somehow.

In frustration she lets go of the knife and let's out a pained sound. She just wants to go home! To the people and the things she cares about! Chezaire feels liquid roll down her cheeks and angrily brushes the tears away. "Damnit." With a deep breath she begins to focus and pull at the magic humming through her. She pulls an image together in her mind of her cats, fuels her wish to be with them, among others back home, into the power of her spell and pushes it outward. The sleek black cat she has named Shadow and the fluffy ginger cat she called Lord materialize.

They are nothing but illusions but they make her feel better regardless. The sit by her feet and she reaches for the knife again. Maybe...maybe she can't leave because she wasn't acknowledging where she came from. Couldn't move towards the future without remembering the pain of her past. Breathe, Chez. She came from a family of witches. Her mother married her father and they were cast out from their families. They had her and there were peaceful, happy years. Then her parents were killed and she was bounced between foster homes, not knowing what she was until her magic manifested.

An old lady was her foster parent once. She knew. She taught Chezaire some magic until her health became too bad to continue to care for a young teenager. More homes until she could fend for herself. Part time jobs, university, getting into a Masters...It hadn't been all bad but it certainly wasn't easy. Now...now she had actual friends outside of her cats. Friends she had to get back to. Friends she had so much more to tell. Her grip on the knife is sturdy and she smiles when she realizes what she has to do. Bracing herself the pushes with all her might and the doors open. The illusion of her cats vanish because she doesn't need them anymore. Beyond the doorway lies what she needs. Whether that is truly the pearl she came in to find or something else she knows it's there.

Ash stretched and yawned; time to start the day. She brushing her long brown hair from her face, gets up and bumbles around her little cottage when she catches a strange scent on the air. She pauses and inhales deeply trying to place this smell. It tantalizes her senses and quickly brushes away any remnants of sleep.

Quickly she gathers her things, excited for what the day is going to bring. Her interest has been piqued by this smell and she can't for the life of her figure out what, or where it is coming from. Curiosity has always been her downfall.

Ash fumbles with the door as she tries to put on her pack, standing outside she checks to make sure she has everything for a day trip. Satisfied she gives the air a sniff and gets a general direction of where there smell is coming from; a small group of trees, and there seems to be something odd about them. Shrugging she sets off on her way.

An hour later she reaches the edge of the small grove. She can see wisps of smoke weaving in and out of the trees; intrigued she advances, the smell growing ever stronger. Excitement courses through her veins as she is surrounded by the smoke, a rainbow smoke?! And the luscious scent. The further in she goes, the thicker the smoke and the stronger the smell, her head begins to spin, things begin to grow fuzzy and then all goes black.

Upon waking she finds herself in front of a small cottage. She slowly raises up, her head still swimming. Quickly she checks herself over for any injuries, seeing none she slowly stands. Everything seems to be in order, she brushes the grass from herself and notices that her tanned skin is covered in what looks like glitter. Funny, she didn't remember coming into contact with anything that had glitter on it.

As she is trying in vain the brush the glitter off she hears a creak. SHe looks up and the door to the cottage has opened. Odd, no one is around and the cottage looks empty, well kept, but obviously no one is at home. Slowly she creeps forward, careful not to trip over anything. She approaches the doorway and peeks in, there in a chair is her pack! How did that get in there?!

"Hello", she calls from the doorway. "Is anyone home?" She knocks on the door and it swings open further. She can feel herself being pulled inside. She might as well, she needs to get her belongings anyway. Carefully she crosses the threshold. As soon as the clears the door is slams shut making her jump. She bumps into a small statue of three women surrounded but the most elegant horses she has ever seen. Quickly she grabs its to make it stop rocking. The last thing she needs to do is destroy the place.

Slowly she backs away, still admiring the work of art. She turns and makes her way to her pack. As soon as she puts her hand on it the smell starts to creep around her again. She slowly turns around and freezes as she sees the rainbow smoke coming from the statue.

Once again her curiosity gets the best of her and she creeps closer to the statue. A closer look reveals a small indention that would perfectly fit a pearl. She looks closer, and hears a voice whisper in her ear, "find me and your heart's desire shall be yours." Startled she jumped back from the statue as though she had been burned. A quick look around the cottage reveals no one. Puzzled she looks back at the statue and at the missing piece. Suddenly the vision of a beautiful pearl forms in her mind and she knows this is what belongs here.  She has a sudden urgency to find this pearl.

She turns and begins looking around, a door that she didn't notice before catches her eye. It slowly opens before her, a plume of rainbow smoke rolls across the floor along with the tantalizing smell. Her pulse quickens, she walks over and grabs up her pack and makes for the door, she looks back one more time at the statue that now seems to be glowing. Her heart's desire is a good adventure, so either way, whatever she finds beyond this point will just be an added bonus. She takes a deep breath and charges headlong into the swirling smoke and the unknown.

Ryuukokoro

Sky Bridge was used to being overlooked. He was a munchkin Feli, after all. He hadn't grown much since kittenhood. He still had short little legs and a stubby bobtail and little triangular ears. Nothing that really stood out. Especially with all the tall equines and two-leggeds that were always walking about. If he wasn't careful, he would get tripped over!

But hey, that was a-okay with him! It just meant there was more of an adventure waiting for him down on the ground, where all the tall people overlooked!

Before Saevia and Rainbow Gore could even give voice to stop the little creature (if they even saw him), the sky-colored tabby squirmed himself between Gore's indigo hooves and trotted across the grass toward the cottage.

"Adventure!" the little Feli chirruped to himself. The smell of sweet grass and little white flowers filtered through his soft pink nose as he crossed the field as quickly as he could. He inhaled the smell eagerly. The sound of the wind swirled in his ears, and the flickering fog sparkled up ahead. It was all so exciting! This was definitely the life for him.

Sky Bridge flicked his little bobtail up in the air like a bold flag as he approached the cottage. He had heard what the pretty elf had said-- there was a pearl here that granted wishes!

He was pretty sure that's what she said, anyway.

As Sky Bridge approached the cottage, the sparkling fog enveloped him and seemed to welcome him in. He couldn't see where he was going anymore, but he wasn't worried about that. After all, everyone always said he had a great sense of direction, didn't they? He was pretty sure they said that about him. So he kept pushing forward in the direction he thought the cottage would be.

"Step aside, step aside, coming through," the little feline muttered to himself as he found himself caught up in a riot growth of tall flowers, their stalks thick and unbending, like poles. For a moment he thought he might not make it, but giving up just wasn't in the Feli's dictionary. He bobbed and weaved, using his small size to his advantage, until finally he popped out of the last of the flowers, tripped over a raised dandelion shoot, and flipped himself right up onto the cottage porch!

"Erm, I meant to do that," Sky Bridge muttered, getting to his four paws.

Shaking his fur into place, the Feli approached the doorway. Beside the door was a small statuette (just about the same size as the little feline). It was some sort of goblin-like figure with a big nose. Sky Bridge was just passing when, for some reason, the stateuette--completely on its own!--tipped over and hit the ground, its nose snapping off with a ceramic 'clink!'

"Uh, oops... I mean..I meant to do that too," Sky Bridge gulped, inching past and darting into the house.

Once inside, Sky Bridge's heartbeat started to skip in his furry chest. This was so exciting! An adventure! Now to find that pearl and get it to grant his wish!

The little Feli scampered on skittering paws through room after room--how strange, was this cottage bigger on the inside than the outside? Finally his explorations brought him back to the front room and there he stopped short. He hadn't noticed it the first time, but there was something strange on the wall. A mirror? Or was it a pane of perfectly frozen ice? It must be a mirror. He had heard it said that magic mirrors could show you your heart's desire. So the mirror would show him the pearl, so he could have his wish!

Sky Bridge raised up on his hind legs and leaned forward to sniff the icy mirror. He sneezed. Eep, cold! He blinked. A sky-colored tabby with cyan eyes blinked back at him. The Feli in the mirror looked shocked and then flattened his ears with a short growl. Sky Bridge's heart sped up and his fur stood up on edge. Did he have to fight someone to get the pearl!?

"Oh," said Sky Bridge (and the Feli in the mirror). "That's no pearl, that's just me." He snorted and started to wash one paw, irritated. He must have messed up this adventure, somehow. The pearl wasn't in the mirror. And it wasn't like he already was his own heart's wish, right?

Right?
