LC - approve?

So one of the things I've been meaning to do with these guys is redraw them. I love these lines, and as such want to keep close to what Kage did with them, but I also think that it would help keep everything the same if I redid the lines myself. I also hope that it'd help bring back some of the interest that has been lost between changing hands so often and fluctuating threads. This would also mean I have access to templates for the Festival Mice and items, which I never ended up with. However, I don't want to do this change if you don't think it's a good idea.

This is a sketch of what the female fencat would look like.


If I go through with this overhaul, I'd redo all the breeds (except the Spirit Feys for obvious reasons) and most of the items. The poses would remain largely the same, so there is as little confusion as possible. The current plushies would be left alone, but the potions, tickets, and possibly some of the breeding items would change as well. The backgrounds I can't even find, so unless you're interested in backgrounds, I will probably take them out of the system.

Soo... Thoughts? Is this a bad idea and I should just stick to how the LC already are? Like some things but not others? Don't really care one way or another?

I'm not sure what they'd look like, either, but if it sounds like something you'd like, I wouldn't be opposed.

Victoria - I was planning on redoing them because of a few reasons. A) I would like to have access to the lines I don't currently have, and don't know of anyone who can send them to me. The solution I see is to simply make them. B) There are a few things in the current lines that bother me. You don't notice it until you start coloring the lines, especially for breedings and such, but the LC lines as they stand now aren't anatomically accurate across breeds. For example, the Kodama ears on the male and female are different. C) I noticed with the spirit fey that Kage last did, her shading style had evolved a bit. Redoing the current templates would let me make them more like that style.

Of course, like I said, if you have something against me redoing them, or updating them, so to speak, let me know. I won't do it if there's more against than for.

If you dont have acess to the lines then you should definitely redo them. I was just wondering why you would spend all them time making new lines when the old lines are perfectly fine, but now i see the issue. But yes i agree you should redo the lines. And you should maybe even add your own touch and make them more uniqe then the last ones so, like you said, gain more interest. And also you should change the shading style too, cell block shading isnt that appealing.

I kinda disagree about cell shading being unappealing, but that may be because I watch and read too much anime and manga. >.> I'll think about changing the shading, but I've never had an issue with the shading Kage did with these so I'd have to get more input from the community before I decide one way or another.

Oh yeah you're right cell shading does look good with anime and with cartoons if you want a cartoony feel. But LC animals would look awesome with a different type of shading but its up to you it is your adoptable.

Cell shading sounds worse than it is really. Sky shades amazing with that style. Lots of the adoptables here are shaded that way too

i entirely support this, just because i'm a sucker for SkySong art.  xD;  i enjoy the LC as is, but having them overhauled could also be super awesome! x3

I'd say this is probably a good idea, for the reasons you said.
I'm not totally sure if cell block shading would be nice, i tend to prefer more detailed, subtle shading. However, i also don't know if i've the wrong idea of what exactly cell shading is and can't remember any examples of your art xD So i will wait till you've shaded the first one to give a proper judgement

I love the old artwork and I think the cell shading worked well with Kage's style. But I think perhaps your style might need a different kind of shading. But I really like cell shading with this adoptable. It is what I expect from LC and I think it's cute and a good match with the rest of the artwork. Idk if a new shading style would fit with the current breeds.

Up to you, though. Just my thought
