As anyone who has seen the phenomenon knows, boggy marshes and swamps are the place to see strange nighttime floating fires know as Foxfires or "will-o'-the-wisps". So of course when the Okibi are looking to produce offspring, the Marsh is where they go! There they find the magical Foxfires they use to reproduce.

This thread is a permanent breeding thread for the Okibi Caballi.

Rather than a breeding season or limited slots, the Okibi will be going with a 'waiting list' set up. Anyone interested in breeding their Okibi can post their username in bold in this thread, and they will be added to the list. I will contact you via pm when it is your turn, and you have the option of breeding up to three pairs of Okibi.

When it's your turn, you can breed 1, 2, or 3 pairs of Okibi. All Okibi have a single foal unless a Twin Foxfire is used. All babies can be kept by you, or any may be traded/sold/given away. Okibi cannot be sold for USD, but all other site currencies are acceptable.

How Okibi s-genes work: An s-gene can either be visible (SS) or carried (Ss) or absent (ss). If both parents have a visible gene, the baby will also have it visible (baby will get S from each parent). If one parent has a visible gene (SS) and one doesn't (ss), the baby will carry that gene (Ss). If both parents carry the same gene, the baby can get an S or an s from each parent. Therefore it has a 25% chance of it being visible (SS, S from both parents), 50% of it being carried (S from one and s from the other, or visa versa), and 25% chance of neither (ss, s from both parents).

Unique Markings: Unique Markings (any marking that is not an s-gene) passes to the offspring 100% of the time. They are much more rare than s-genes. But keep in mind Unique Markings get smaller with each generation. For example, a female who has flames climbing up her legs might only give flame socks to her baby, and the future offspring of that baby might only get flame 'toes,' or one flame sock.

Mutations: Okibi have two types of mutations, the normal type and special Bred Mutations. All examples can be seen on the Okibi agency page.

Normal mutations can be obtained in multiple ways, either in premade Okibi, through ordered customs, or by breeding Okibi with those mutations. Normal mutations pass on a 50/50 chance. If one parent has the mutation, there is a 50% chance of the offspring having the mutation. If both parents have the same mutation, the offspring will have it 100% of the time. Multiple mutations are possible, however if they are in the same location it is not possible for them both to be visible on the Okibi (for example, if one parent has Peg Wings and one parent has Faery Wings, the baby cannot have both). Because of this, Fennec Fae cannot have the Peg Wing or Faery Wing mutations.

Bred Mutations are mutations that are only obtainable when you meet certain conditions during an Okibi breeding. These mutations usually do not pass on to the offspring of the mutated Okibi, unless otherwise noted. You cannot order these mutations for customs and it is very rare when you will see them in giveaways. New Bred Mutations are mysterious and not announced beforehand. They are discovered only as different breedings are attempted.


Babies grow 20 days after delivery. Once your babies are adults, you can post your username here to be added to the list again.

You can use other people's Okibi, they will need to post or pm me permission.

Male or female, an Okibi can breed once every 20 days. Therefore when their offspring are grown into adults, they may breed again.

The breeding items listed here are for this thread only, and can only be purchased when it is your turn to breed. (See below for using other breeding items you have gotten outside of this thread.)


- 10k This magical Foxfire is always needed to breed two Okibi. Other colored Foxfires can be used to influence the outcome. (The most you can buy is 3 when it's your turn.)

- 1k This Foxfire guarantees the baby will be male. (The most you can buy is 3.)

- 1k    This Foxfire guarantees the baby will be female. (The most you can buy is 3.)

- 20k This Foxfire produces two babies instead of one. The only time they will be identical twins is if they are opposite genders. (The most you can buy is 1.)

- 1k This Foxfire allows two Okibi of the same gender to have an offspring. (The most you can buy is 1.)

- 5k This Foxfire allows s-genes that the offspring carries to be automatically changed to visible. (The most you can buy is 1.)

I wanted to make sure any breeding item you already own or breeding items you get in events outside this thread are still valuable. Therefore any item outside this event can be used at any time, whether it is your turn or not. Simply pm me with the breeding form or green foxfire form. (Rules are still the same, you still need a Normal Foxfire to breed.)

I got my babies from the other thread (The poll one) Can I submit my name here or do I wait for them to grow up? (Has a pairing in mind I'd like to try out for fangs)

OH! And hey, another question, are we allowed to let others use ours, and are we allowed to use theirs? What are restrictions on them? (can only breed once every 30 days, unlimited breedings) since FoxFires are magical =D I think these are only questions I can think of. Am getting pretty head heavy <3

The Okibi have a naming item so you can name whenever you want to. They're for sale in the agency shop.

You can use any Okibi for breeding, I just need permission from the owner posted or pm'd to me.

Sorry, I know i'm a pest. But I'm actually a bit confused. Breeding is sort of based on PI ponies genes and such, but how does passing work, exactly. Hypothetical situation here: Find Love (Paint and Tips) is bred to Red strokes (Zigzags) Will the baby have a visible body gene or merely be a carrier for paint and tips and Zigzags? (I know the tips would be carried, cuz well, he doesn't have tips)

It's no problem, Kahlira! That's how things are discovered, right? ^^

Since there aren't 'body slot', 'leg slot', etc. for the Okibi, the genes aren't sharing the same space and so aren't related. Each gene is separate, Paint and ZZ are not recessive or dominant to each other (otherwise you couldn't have Paint and ZZ visible at the same time, a feature I really enjoy in the Okibi). Breeding Paint to ZZ will get you a carrier of both, but neither visible (unless you use Black Foxfire, then both will be visible!).

There are two Okibi with a dual gender, yours and Sunchaser's. They can be bred to either a male or a female Okibi without the use of a Yellow Foxfire, but they still need to wait 20 days between each breeding.

For any possible Okibi RP's in the future, the character can be played with a split-personality, both a male and a female in one body. I know Sunchaser was planning that for her dual-gendered Okibi.
