Keilin's Quinsta for Breed

[Keilin Alyr]

I specialize in breeding very short-lined and beautiful Quinsta, with a primary focus on non-tobiano Gypsy Vanners, mainly because I enjoy the breeding challenge. This is also the proud home of Chanda, the first visible silver dapple Clydesdale, and five absolutely gorgeous palominos!

My stallions are always up for free breed. I prefer some of my males not be used to produce inbred or Grade foals, though I may make Grade exceptions for gene introductions in other breeds (especially Friesians). Just let me know in advance.

Unless listed as posted or otherwise noted, my mares are almost always up for RB trading. While I'm trying to expand my breeding focus, my primary RB interests are still 1st and 2nd generation Gypsy Vanners without tobiano patterning. I'll also highly consider 1st or 2nd generation females of any breed with interesting traits, proven heterozygous-tobiano (Tt) Vanners, as well as unusual 2nd generation Grades. Feel free to offer what you feel is fair though!

Long story short, I'll consider almost all breeding requests and RB negotiations, and I'm willing to help with any genetics-related or pairing questions you may have. Feel free to ask! =)

I will have new blood, but only Arabs and Grades used to breed genes into Arabs. So if you are looking for a Vanner, Clyde or Friesian I am afraid I can't help you Is there anything else beside another RB that might be able to win you over? I absolutely LOVE creme, especially double creme and I really want to breed a double creme but I need a creme mare for that and they are super hard to grab xD

toffeeca: That's no problem, and actually, I was intending on nudging you into accepting Red's offer if you had prioritized me, since I'm still not sure who I'd pair Anwar with. I can't pair every beautiful Arabian mare with Sunchaser or Zaithin. XD

I'm not as familiar with Arabian lines as I am with Gypsy Vanners, but I think I'm slowly learning. I'm also curious to see who Red pairs Anwar with, and what the resulting offspring looks like, even though the foal will be Grade. Might help me decide in the future. =)

If you have unnamed Lumi I strongly recommend to dig them up quickly, as we have started rehoming unclaimed pets from the 1 SG raffle after several posted warnings. So if there are pets you still want to claim I recommend doing that asap and I will have to check if they are still available.

And sure, we can wait for my new blood ^^ I am aiming for another roan Grade, black Arabs (hopefully black dun) and cream Arabs this season.

Okay so now that I have stuff more figured out, I am back to make a more specific offer regarding Don'chavein: I would like to breed him to my black roan Grade lady, who is unrelated to your boy. She has 80% Arab in her pedigree, so she can is now capable of producing a roan Arab. I think a chance at roan dun would be amazing, and creme roan would also be great. And I had a feeling Don'chavein would be popular. XD I believe I've come up with a workable compromise position for studding him:

His first breed per individual will be free, at least for March. I'll re-evaluate my position at the end of this upcoming breeding season, but I doubt it'll change.

I would prefer some form of bribe for second and subsequent breeds though. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, I'll consider SG/PG as well as breeding reserves or custom adoptables, even pre-colored adoptables if you're not up for making semi-customs/customs. I would prefer they be pretty though. XD

If any bribed breeding doesn't turn out as expected (neither cream nor dun being inherited in the offspring), and the foal is not claimed/traded, let me know. I'll either refund your bribe or reserve you the appropriate number of claim spots for the following season, depending on type of bribe and your preference.

As a side note, while I prefer non-cream/plain-coated foals not be claimed from my cream Quinsta (I've done so for both Persephone and Jonquil), I feel I can hardly make that request in good conscience with Don'chavein, since he's a public stud. Who am I to say that someone can't fall in love with a solid chestnut or a silver dapple black or a foal that only inherited its mother's traits? =)

Please feel free to ask my opinions on a bred foal or a project though, I don't mind helping out with decision making.

Interesting, there's a chance of flaxen palominos with that pairing, provided Don'chavein carries recessive flaxen. At the very least Merithra's foal would be a carrier.

I don't see anyone else among your mares that stands out to me though. I'd have recommended your palomino girl if the two didn't have the same father, which is unfortunate. I think Merithra might be your best bet. =)

I will be honest and say im terrible with the whole genetics thing, so if you have any suggestion for a mate coat that might produce and nice or unusual coat or somet you would like to see if she carries do let me know

There is the time-honored tradition of trying for a dun roan foal and hoping the stubborn Vanner roan gene cooperates. XD If you're interested in this, I'd recommend Lete'mionech (red roan) or possibly Atreyu (silver dapple black roan). Definitely not Nuatunmed, as he's Yen'mira's half-brother. But Atreyu could be interesting as I'm only partially sure of Yen'mira's agouti gene. She could be hiding brown.

If you want to try for pretty overo paint, I'd definitely recommend Glory's Sounding (bay splash overo and one of the few 1st gen bay Vanners) or his son Barathon (bay tobiano splash overo). I would've loved to have recommended Theo, since black overo would have been an awesome test for two genes, but he's related to Delilah, Yen'mira's mother.

There's also trying for cream dun foals. I'd personally recommend Ravvana's palomino boy Laurëon for the chance at palomino dun (though there is the chance for solid chestnut or chestnut dun given that palomino is Cc cream). There's also Gabriel (silver dapple sooty buckskin tobiano... think brown Quin with cream, silver dapple, and tobiano paint), but Laurëon is my personal favorite when it comes to male cream Vanners.
