Fancy short hairs are our most common type mouse, we soley breed the best quality for both sho and pet.

Fancy long hairs are a little kess common than the short hairs, these however are more common in shows rather then strictly as pets.

Fancy domestic rats are a slimer verison of thier wild cousins, we breed these reats as both pet and show quality.
Dumbo rats are a little more rounded all the way through, we breed these rats as mostly show quality.





Breeding is always open, each breeding cost 10k.
You must have a male and female of the same Type (so rat or mice).
Different Variteys may breed together without adverse affects.
Females may only breed once every 2 weeks, however over breeding your female will result in death both in the doe and the babies.
Males may breed as many times as you please, however if they over breed the quality of thier offspring is likely to be low.

Mouse Breeding- 1-6 pinkies (you may keep three)

Each month there is a show for all rodents to enter, both Show & Pet quality rodents are welcome to enter the montly show.

Every 3 months there is a show for all rodents who are/have gained show status, this show is Best In Class.

To tell a pet, show, or champion quality rodent apart, check the ID.
If they are pet quality they will have thier number like this P001
If they are show quality they will have thier number like this S001
If they are Chamption Quality they will have thier number like this C001

Pet quality rodents can be shown to gain points and become show quality, a rodent must have 5 + points to be show quality.

Point System
1-4 Points Pet Quality (breedings will result in 1-6 pinkies depending on type)
5-10 Points Show Quality (breedings will result in 3-8 pinkies depending on type)
11 Points Champion Quality (breedings will result in 5-10 pinkies all in perfect health)

Gaining Points
Every show your rodent places in will add points. They must place 1st-3rd to gain points.

Best In Class
1st-5 points
2nd-3 points
3rd-2 points

Once a rodent reaches champion status they are welcome to show but can no longer gain points.
Champion status is 11 points.




The Cert

Name-This is where the name of your rodent can be seen, a rodent who is show quality will be given a name plus a owner brand. This brand will be three characters of the First owners choice.

Owner-This is where the name of the owner of the rodent can be seen.

Type-This is where you can see what type the animal is, types being rat or mouse.

Variety-This shows the variety of the type.

Coat-This is where the coat colors and markings can be seen.

Sire-If the rodent is over a first gen you can find its fathers name & id here.

Dam-If the rodent is over a first gen you can find its mothers name & id here.

ID-This will give you the id and quality of the rodent

Gender-Here you can find the sex of your rodent. Buck is boy Doe is girl





-Trading is allowed at all times for Weanlings Only. Pinkies can be set up for trades but cannot be traded until they grow, adults get easily attached to thier owners so there is a designated time for trading on them. At that time you will be allowed to by treats which helps with getting an adult rodent to go with someone else.

ack, we have to have them re-done? I love the way mine were colored already!! I really don't want Blue re-colored, but I dont want to lose him either.

I will be getting a rat slot once they are open again in the future. Disappointed I missed those.

It looks like maybe the text boxes are doing something weird to your coloring?

Oh i see now. Ya the texts boxes are transparent somewhat so they distort the color behind them a tid bit.

If you actually move the image onto something of a darker background you'll see theres actually text boxes for each text area and they are on a semi white background themselves. It just dosnt show against the secundi background.

Just my opinion, feel free to ignore it. I think they look better without the white boxes. Since most of the time they are seen against white, all it does is distort the cute little tails. (BTW I adore the doe in the first post.. *grabby hands and drool* I think you are doing a great job coloring!)

Hrm..maybe i could do a cert design contest >.> i honestly suck at coming up with certs myself, but they must be able to hold all the information in an organized way. Ill set up the contest actually ^^

Maybe. I think they'd look great with just the text and no white boxes around the text.

Well since indigo brought it to my attention im not to incredibly fond of the certs for these guys that i came up with. However i do like its organization and size so heres the contest

Come up with a cert that is both organized and of good size. It can be a little smaller or larger then the current one just not that much difference.

Its must be in layers also. Font dosnt matter as ill change if it need be or find the font your using and add it to my computer ^^

Willow love if you could send just the cert that may work, however if its the same cert that was in their files i dont think it was GIMP friendly because all the lines around the big and text boxes were not showing and the shadow under the title and id werent there. Plus most of the color was gone for the boxes to..

Would it be possible to just keep our old rats on the old certs, and not worry about changing them to the new certs?  I don't mind if they don't all match, once I get new ones, but I don't see why the old ones need to be changed, unless they will be getting things added to the certs eventually?

I quite like how my current rats are, I'm not sure I want them recolored >.>

Well mostly its the ids i need to change, and all of them are going to be changed to first gen so i can code them. However if miss willowdragon has all the old psds or anything to them i can take just the rodent and put it on its new cert uncolored.

Everything is layered, and can be moved/recolored at will. I didn't make a fancy font since you probly have your own in mind. Can be used for rats too!

Yea I had the same problem with the Ponee cert for The Jaeman Prophecy, it was .psd. Opens just fine, but the text boxes change to regular layers so you can't edit them anymore. Now I have a really ugly cert, I should really let someone design a new one too xD

Added a backing to the text part, in case you wanted that. Again, its on its own layer and re-colorable. I tried to make a wood like coloring for them.

I wonder if it's possible to "cut" the image out of the old cert and paste it onto whatever new cert you choose, for those who really dont want recolors of thier favorites? I can help with that if you decide to try it!





It's not perfect, but it was about 10 minutes to do. Works best on a white background- the time consuming part was just trying to make it transparent.


eta: ooooor, I have another idea- if you trust me.. I have both GIMP and PS, perhaps if you sent me the files, I could open it with PS, edit it so it would work with GIMP, save it, open it with GIMP, and edit the last bits so you could use it with the old cert!

third option: for the old ones already colored- let people keep them as-is, and just change the ID number in the corner? Should be able to erase that off the image and put your own ID number there. Then all future ones have the new cert?

Halp!  I are so confused!  For the rats, there are colors, then markings, then there are two sections labeled AOC and ACOP.  Since those two sections came after the markings section, I assumed they were markings as well.. but when trying to look everything up to see what it looks like, I am having trouble finding them as markings.  I did find FAWN, but it's listed as a color, not a marking..  Could someone please help unscramble my brain a bit?

Hunni, which option did you want to do? Cut the image out, send me files and let me see if I can recover old cert, or editing the ID?

If it's cutting image out, do you have new cert in mind, and is white background ok? Very hard to do transparent. And I'd need to know what new ID number you'd want on each one.

AOC Any Other Color so its a color hun, like thier coat color.

AOCP Any Other Color Pattern its a pattern made up of color kind like the points on siamese cat.

In England, in show standards we have a section called AOV, which basically stands for Any Other Variety.

I'm guessing the AOC and ACOP stands for something kinda the same in the American Rodent Club?

I like the old cert, so I think indigo's idea of sending her the cert and letting her make it GIMP friendly would be great. This would also enable people to keep their old pets, as you can just put the new cert over the old one. That way the text is changed, but the pets can stay the same <3

Last question (I think..) what would the point be to competing (showing) a champion quality rat/mouse?  I noticed it said we could still show them, but that they would no longer gain points.  So I'm wondering if there is an additional benefit to showing our critters, other then to "level them up" so to speak?

for the cert, I personally prefer the one indigo made, as it doesn't have to sit on top of any part of the rat/mouse.  The other ones (old and new) are both nice, I just dislike that they essentially cover up (thus altering however slightly) part of the tail.

Well with each show there will also be other prizes with the 1st-3rd places. So yes they can still gain the other prizes but not the points.
