Welcome to the pet shop, please take a look around to see if there is anything that catches your eye.
We will try to get more pets in as demand rises but I am sure there are plenty here that need a loving home already. If you are looking for a particular coloration and we do not have it in then I am sure you could order one from our suppliers.
We try to breed the best and prettiest markings we can but sometimes we do get pets in that we think have been dyed funny colors. We try not to accept many as they do look quirky and require an owner with a sense of humor.

Information and rules.

Owning a pet from our store can be very rewarding. We will run competitions so that you can gain rosettes and items.
Only 1st place gets a rosette to equip to thier cert.
Rosettes give you the ability to have more offspring when breeding.
Below i shall put the rules and any information needed.

Contesting.
To contest your pet you must first own a training lead or whistle. (equipped to the cert)
Winning a contest will gain you a rosette and a prize for 1st place.
2nd or 3rd place will get you a random item.
All contesters get store credit.

Pet store credit.
When contesting you may gain store credit, this will add up and when special credit threads are made you will be able to redeem them on certain items or use them in part payment for things.
You may also be able to gain store credit by donating pets back to the shop. If you have a litter and want to donate them once a donation thread is opened then credits will be given and the pets will get rehomed in games. This can be a good thing if you did not get the color you wanted from the litter and want to get credits to buy another breeding bed to try again.
Keep an eye out to see if normal threads are awarding shop credits just for participation.
If a thread is awarding credits you will see this in the thread title. (AStC)

Breeding.
You must have a male and a female of the same species.
You must have a breeding box for that species that can only be used once.
Breeding is always open if you own a bed.
Breeding the same female too close to its last breeding may result in death of adult and/or offspring

using someone elses pet/pets to breed.
If you are borrowing one pet to breed with yours then they must post permission before you post the breeding.
You can not use 2 of someone elses pets to breed but you can provide the breeding bed for them to request the breeding.

offspring.
Dogs: between 1 and 3 puppies can be born.
Cats: between 1 and 3 kittens can be born.
Ferrets: between 1 and 4 kitts can be born.
Birds: between 1 and 4 chicks can be born.


Rosettes and breeding.
If your pet is a rosette holder it can have more offspring.
1 rosette = 1 to 2 extra offspring
2 rosettes = 2 to 3 extra offspring
3 rosettes = 2 to 4 extra offspring or chance of 1 custom offspring.
4 rossettes+ = unknown

I will try to do ferrets as i do love them so much but will have to see if my drawing skills will be nice enough to stay around for a while hehe.

all of them are really cute and all, but I'm not gonna stalk I spent a while thinking of a critter that hasn't been overused constantly, and a short while after I get everything all set up the same critter comes along

That's why I said guinea pigs, it hasn't been used yet (although I wanted to start one, but can't find someone to do the art X.x) and I am dying for them! *has so many she wants to get*

It's cause I spend the time thinking of animals that haven't been used, instead of defaulting to another one that's already here

I really dont think it fair to say because you thought of the animal first then others arent allowed, or not you saying thier not allowed but making others feel bad for using them.

The kennel, stable & cattery were the first here of all the dog, cat & horse adoptables yet they dont say anything to other users who want to use them love, wouldnt you be kinda upset if you were doing an adoptable and because someone said well im using that animal you couldnt? the mustela thread says your using a cat line of sorts..kinda the same deal here.

I really want the ferrets to stay in the Pet Shop, I think it's really cute lineart!

I also think it's pretty rude to come into someone else's thread and try to make an artist feel bad for responding to fan comments. Ferrets weren't even on the Pet Shops original plan, they were requested by people in this thread. I think that shows there's enough interest for there to be more than one adoptable of them.

like, if your pet holds one, and is bred, does that disappear, or does your pet hold it forever?

The pet hold it forever so will have the breeding bonus every time it breeds. xx

I have also contacted an artist to hopefully get The Cavy Cottage started (the realistic guinea pig adoptie I couldn't find an artist for, someone who has the right style has returned to secundi and we're talking about a commission <3), would you mind that? It will be a realistic adoptie, guinea pig only with breeding (like most adopties), no showing. I don't think it will be similair to the pet shop in any way, but I wanted to ask just in case.
